Bugaboo Pushchairs

Baby strollers used to be dull, lump and purely functional pieces of metal before the Bugaboo pushchairs came along. The design by 2 Dutch men was initially turned down by countless stroller manufacturers but their belief if an elegant and highly functional stroller paid off when they started manufacturing it themselves. It has since become synonymous with sheeck and high fashion thanks to the countless celebrities jumping unto the Bugaboo trend and making it the world’s most sought after stroller.

The Dutch are famous for their innovative designs and their insatiable attention to detail and practicality. Nowhere is this more evident than with the Bugaboo pushchairs and not only do they look great, they are extremely tough, practical and comfortable. Bugaboo pushchairs look and work very differently from any other stroller out there. Although there has since been many attempts to “copy” them, there is still only one baby stroller as good as this.

Bugaboo strollers come in 3 models which vary in price and functionality. The Bugaboo Chameleon is the most expensive and most versatile, while the original Bugaboo Frog is priced in the mid range with the Bugaboo Bee as the cheapest.

Bugaboo Bee:

The latest in the Bugaboo range, the Bee is just as unique and beautiful as the first ones. With the Frog and the Cameleon being so expensive it was in a price range that most young parents simply could not afford. With The Bugaboo Bee, anyone can now afford to have one of these stylish strollers and at $529, this is very competitively priced with other strollers.

The Bee is weird looking but its fun, vibrant and packed with all the great features of a Bugaboo stroller. Although it’s the cheapest model it still has all the best features of the Bugaboo. With a streamlines frame and smaller wheels its not as rugged as the more expensive models but it still comes with a reversible seat and 4 wheel suspension.

The Bugaboo Bee is specifically designed as a small, compact and light weight solution. Its ideal for parents on the move and it can quickly turn into a Travel System. It also fits most major car seats and its extremely compact when folded up. The Bugaboo Bee only weighs 17 lbs and comes with a range of unique extras – including the famous bee-like rain cover.

Price Range: $759 (Recommended Price)

Ideal For: Parents on the move and is perfect as a travel companion. Its also great for parents on a budget who wants all the great looks and features of a Bugaboo without spending a fortune.

Negatives: The adjustable handlebars don’t extend smoothly and tends to get stuck. Some seat positions can make it hard to fold up the stroller.

Bugaboo Frog:

This is the original Bugaboo pushchair and is still one of the most popular. Its incredibly versatile and offers unrivaled value for money. It gets its name from its “frog like” ability to negotiate and jump over bumps, curbs and obstacles which is why every parent in an urban environment need one to get around with easy. The unique wheel arrangement makes it glide over any terrain while your baby remains undisturbed.

One of the best features of the Bugaboo Frog is the reversible handle allowing your baby to face both ways. The light weight frame makes this almost half the weight of traditional baby strollers while still being twice as strong as most of them.

The Bugaboo Frog folds up with ease – allowing any mom to quickly collapse the pram and pop it into the car. The reversible 3 position seat comes with a 5 point safety harness and the Bugaboo strollers have the highest safety rating possible.  The seat also has a special car seat connector – allowing you to directly connect several brands of car seats to the Bugaboo Frog’s base. The seat can also convert into a bassinet that allows it to be both a pram and a stroller by just making one quick adjustment.

Obviously the most attractive feature of the Bugaboo Frog is its looks and like all the other Bugaboos it comes in a variety of vibrant colors that you can mix and match to create your own unique look.

Price Range: $759 (Recommended Price)

Best For: Urban Environments and parents looking for a stylish and highly flexible and practical solution.

Negatives: Handle bars don’t adjust vertically for taller parents. Some popular colors have a long waiting time.

Bugaboo Cameleon:

One of Bugaboo’s main design considerations is for the stroller to “grow” with your child. The high level of flexibility and adjustability allows you to buy JUST ONE stroller for your baby and adapt it as your baby grows. Nowhere is the adaptability and flexibility more evident in the Cameleon which is at the top of the range.

While the Cameleon is based on the Frog, it comes packed with extras that justifies the higher price tag. It comes with an adjustable suspension and an Aerosleep mattress that’s guaranteed to give your child the smoothest ride on any terrain.

You will find that many of the additional addons that you can buy separately comes standard with the Cameleon and if you are planning on going all out with your stroller then this is the perfect option. It really is like a Cameleon and can transform and adjust to fulfill your needs at every stage of your baby’s growth. It can also adapt to virtually any terrain or conditions and gives you the greatest amount of flexibility of all the Bugaboo strollers.

The Cameleon is not for parents on a Budget but if you can afford to splash out then you will find that its well worth the money. This is pure luxury for any baby and with an infinite amount of color combinations your stroller is sure to stand out.

Price Range: $899 (Recommended Price)

Ideal For: Parents who are looking for maximum flexibility and a the ultimate in style.

Negatives: The biggest drawback is the price. Its almost $150 more than its counterpart the Frog and although you get a lot of added extras and features its still a heavy price tag.
